New compliance submission rules for general-use products
The sale of general-use consumer products that don’t meet the requirements enforced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) remains strictly prohibited on Walmart Marketplace; however, submission requirements to demonstrate compliance have been updated.
You must ensure that all Marketplace products adhere to this policy and comply with federal, state and local laws. You must also provide a valid General Certification of Conformity (GCC) to certify that the subject product complies with all CPSC regulations. Items primarily intended for children aged 12 or younger require a Children’s Product Certificate (CPC).
If your unpublished items require documents to stay compliant with our Prohibited Products Policy, you must take action through the Item compliance hub in Seller Center.

When updating product details for items listed on Walmart.com, it’s strictly prohibited to use AI-generated content that misrepresents a product, makes unsubstantiated or unsafe claims, fabricates reviews or endorsements or otherwise violates Marketplace requirements. All claims, images, and descriptions must match the actual product including size, color and other features. You’re responsible for reviewing and substantiating AI-generated content before publication and for complying with all Marketplace policies and applicable laws when selling on Walmart Marketplace.

Provide package details during setup to reduce import duties for customer orders
If you self-fulfill or ship through Walmart Cross Border services, you can now provide packaging dimensions and weight during item setup. This allows Walmart to estimate shipping costs prior to the transaction and exclude dutiable amounts from commercial invoices, thereby reducing import duties for customers—especially on orders with free shipping.

Updated component calculations that may impact your Listing Quality score
We’ve updated the calculations of two components of your Listing Quality score:
- The content quality score now measures fewer attributes to accurately reflect what influences customer trust and item performance.
- The price competitiveness score now calculates your item’s original price, set by you, without Walmart-funded incentives.
As a result of these changes, your overall Listing Quality score, content quality score and price competitiveness score may be impacted. These updates aim to give you a more accurate understanding of your listing’s overall health. To help improve your Listing Quality score, visit the Listing Quality dashboard, Pricing Insights dashboard or Success Hub in Seller Center and take the suggested actions.
